Ever wonder where to go for up-to-date legal news (besides, of course, this publication)?
Content aggregators!
Online push content aggregators can both give you information that you want, curated to your interests, and can also provide topics to blog/ YouTube/TikTok about on your website as a part of your marketing. In addition, you might be able to create content for some of these sites, which would extend your reach as well.
Here are some of the top content aggregators concentrating on legal topics. Some are free, some are subscription, some are a combination of the two. Be aware of news overload and doomscrolling.
JD Supra is an aggregator that publishes legal commentary on a large variety of topics, divided into topics applicable to large, small and solo practices. It’s a great place to publish your own writing and get recognized for that, as well as sorting through articles that you can republish. They also host webinars and other events. Good stuff, been around a long time, know what they’re doing. https://www.jdsupra.com/.
Lexology is my go-to legal analysis aggregator. Probably half of my columns start with something they post. While Supra concentrates on analytics, Lexology is more like a library of articles. Lexology spends a lot of space on international law and esoteric topics in copyright, etc. They have over 650,000 searchable articles to look at, divided into 64 practice areas. They send out a daily newsletter. https://www.lexology.com/
Moondaq concentrates on international law and analytics and includes legal insights from 70 countries. If you publish on this site, it will tell you exactly who is reading your content. Moondaq sends out a bi-weekly newsletter. http://www.mondaq.com/
The National Law Review publishes latest content from a variety of legal news resources, including law reviews, newsletters, formal news sources, and original articles. You can go to the ad-supported website and time and sign up for their e-NewsBulletins. https://www.natlawreview.com/
Feedly is a general news aggregator that lets you construct your own feed consisting of any topic you want (law, for instance). The feed is full of news, social media posts, blogs and more on each topic. Good for keeping up with social media posts on your specialty. https://feedly.com/
Vable can construct news/ topic feeds to send to your clients. I don’t know anything about it, but might be cool. https://www.vable.com/
Thanks and h/t to G2b Social.
